some tiem between this morning and tonight my mead finally started to ferment. i was getting worried as it had been 2 days since i had pitched the yeast. theres lots of foam and it smells awesome.

should i shake it up to mix teh foam back in or what?

If you do be gentle or that foam could be on your ceiling!

Yes giving the carboy a swirl every few days or even every day sirs the yeast back into suspension and helps the fermentation.
