Some of you might have seen Human Weapon on the History Channel. If not, it's about two martial arts experts that travel the world, training and fighting with various other disciplines. Anything from wrestling to boxing to nimpo. The episode on right now has them in Israel, learning the basics of Krav Maga. Wow! I've not heard of it before this, but what an interesting style.

Pretty efficient style of personal combat if you ask me. I may need to delve further into this to learn more.

I believe it is taught to the IDF for the reason that it is simple and easy to learn in a shorter time-frame than most martial arts. It is meant to be something, when there is nothing... ie It's better than not knowing anything at all.

If you are interested in it, there are some good books listed on Amazon.
Just beware that it is not perfect by any means, and a number of the things they teach could easily get you killed or injured even worse than had you not known/used it's techniques. Just look at it from that standpoint, think about it all and if you can, spar with a partner, and take what you find useful.

I think it's good, but you need to know it's downfalls.
