Once upon a time I worked in a large wholesale orchid greenhouse. Vast areas of flowering plants put off an overpowering sweet smell at various times of the day as each perfumes to a different type pollinator. On the stems below the robust flowers like Catalaya, orchid nectar would gather in large drops. I used to eat it daily as it was sweeter than honey and bursting with floral flavors. I never considered collecting it up as a product but now that I have discovered mead making I think back on this. Hmmmm.
Just some thoughts on orchid nectar. Thanx for listening.
