Can you change the naval oranges to blood oranges without any problems? Also, can you use limes instead of oranges leaving everything else the same?

Thanx for your assistance

Welcome to GotMead? rrawhide!

If you deviate in any way from the recipe, Joe's warranty is null and void! :)

With that said there have been many variations on the theme, and if you read through the thread, you can find various examples of different fruit that people have substituted. Blood oranges will work fine, and lime can be used as well. Tangerines are yummy too.

Have fun with it.

i've used a variety of different orange/tangerine varieties w/ no problems, including moros (blood orange). been very happy w/ the results. If you check out the massive thread about JAO in the recipes section, I do believe someone talked about using limes. Or try searching for limes

Thanx

Thanx ya'll - getting honey and limes and oranges as we speak!!!

Looking forward to the various citrus flavors - now if I can just keep my hands off for a year they should be good.

Made lots of wine but not much mead - actually only 1 JAO last year. Looking forward to trying many more.

Thanx again
