View Full Version : Running a mead through a pot type still?

As a first time brewer(and poster) I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with distilling a batch of mead that mabey didnt turnout as well as you hoped it would. I figure if it smells and tasts bad I could have my friend run it through his refluxing still, but if I had a good tasting mead could I run it in a pot still and preserve some original flavor and have a very high abv%?:confused:

We don't advise on or condone the practice of distilling mead here at Got Mead?.

We are a meadmaking advise forum, although some discussions may stray in that direction from time to time we don't involve ourselves in giving advise on distillation of mead. There are a number of other forums out there related to distilling and what you may and may not do when distilling.
