View Full Version : Mead aging

I have put together a kegerator made from a freezer set to 38

I have a mead that I racked to a secondary and has about 6 months on it.

My question is. Would there be any drawback to kegging my mead with some co2 and aging in a corny for another 6 months in the kegerator? Then I would bottle from there.

Thanks in advance!

Thats what I am doing with mine. I just put 10# of CO2 in tank and check it every week or so. I don't leave it hooked up. It takes up a lot less room in the freezer. Only problem I have seen so far is it is to damn easy to taste, I mean test it. I got a special o-ring for the top that holds better under low to no pressure. I dont remember where I got it but someone here told me where to get it so hopefully they will chime in also.

William's Brewing carries the thicker o-rings. They work. I use them in all my kegs (except the ones I am trying to oxidize).
