View Full Version : Flat vs. kegged/carbonated

I'm several months into making my first mead, a sweet mead. I have a good kegging system set up from brewing beer. My plan has been to keg and carbonate the mead after putting it in an oak barrel for about a month, but I want to make sure that's a good idea.

Any suggestions?

You certainly can. Whether it is a good idea or not depends on your mead and your taste buds. One simple thing you can do is take a small amount and put it in a PET soda bottle with a carbonator cap and give it a test. If you like if carbonated, then carbonate the whole batch in the keg.
