Lot's of new people here!

But did you know there are a couple of different ways of finding people in your area? It's a great way to make new friends and learn new things.

Let everybody know where you are at! You might be amazed at how many people are near you. But until you let us know where you are, we can't knock at your door and come over for your next brew day. Or vice versa!

The first thing to do is to use the "User CP" link up under the header. Select "Edit Your Details>Additional Details>Location" and put in your nearest village, town or city. This location will show up on all of your posts.

Next, go to "GM Member Map" under the header and follow the links to mark PRECISELY where you are on Google Maps. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, you can mark your place.

This isn't a "big brother" thing. Nobody cares about that. These are just tools to help meadmakers find like minded people in the same area.

So why haven't you let us know where you are at yet? You might be surprised at how many people are closer than you think!

The map feature is especially handy for planning roadtrips. Some folks are going to get visitors next summer. ;)

Some of us would welcome guests pret'much any time! So when that Oakland weather gets just too much, Aaron, c'mon over for that loooong drive to Elk Grove.

(it's about 90 minutes)

It is kind of chilly today, only 70 or so. Yesterday it was 80, that was nice. They're even forecasting some possible rain this week.
