I find the whole process of making it fascinating from a scientific perspective, and from my artistic side too. I've always wanted to dicker around with it, and mead gives me the chance to do that, actually producing something I don't mind drinking.

I read the book "Judgment of Paris" and really enjoyed it. When the movie Bottle Shock came out, I was disappointed that they barely mentioned Mike Grgich - the man primarily responsible for the winning Chardonnay. I guess that little fact just didn't fit into the story they wanted to tell.
