OK, so my mead is ready to rack. I have k-sulfite and sorbate. Now, do put the dose on the bottom of the receiving container and siphon the mead on top of it, or do I siphon the mead, add the chems and gently stir?

I have always (doesn't make it the right way) put the chemicals in the container and the racked into. I try to keep the possibility for oxidation down to a min.

Thanks PKRMAT and Medsen. I had thought that perhaps racking onto the dose would cause the first bit of mead to be "over sulfited" and perhaps cause off flavors in the rest of the batch. Good to know that either way works.
