Anyone in the Augusta area have a fruit press I could borrow this fall for a day? I have a line on some persimmons and would love to make some mead with them. Please let me know.

Nothing like a ripe persimmon... Nothing like an unripe one either. I made a mango melomel where I wrapped the fruit pulp in sausage-shaped cheesecloth, letting the aging extract further flavors. I must admit, it is a messy technique at racking time.
Luck O' the Irish to ya in your persimmon spirit. Sounds delectable.
