Hi! question from a new mead maker:

I am 2 weeks into a 1 gallon batch of "no age sweet mead". I followed the directions exactly (i think).

It has been bubbling for the last two weeks and has slowed down to 1 bubble every 8 seconds.

I dont have a hydrometer, so I am wondering when I should rack it? should I wait for the bubbles to slow down or stop first, or should I just follow the time line given in the recipe and rack it now?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dan

Welcome to GotMead DrZ!

I would suggest that you:
A. Get a hydrometer (a mead maker's most important tool)
B. Follow the recipe as precisely as possible.
C. Rack at the designated gravity.

If you want Joe's results, you have to follow his recipe.

Get two! If you break one (and eventually, you will) you are still in operation.
