Folks,

Those of you who have actually read the home entry rules for this year's competition have already noted that we have removed restrictions on bottle size/shape/closure/color/markings/etc, this year, because we're going to be set up to do blind pourings for the judges. HOWEVER, please note that the number of bottles required for a "full entry," that is one that could potentially go through to the Best of Show round, is still 3 bottles for 12 oz and larger, and with a minimum of 4 for 10 oz. and smaller sizes.

The bottom line is that even though we're set up for the blind pourings this year, we are not able to support re-capping/corking/zorking/whatever in between rounds, so even though a 750 contains twice the volume of a 12 oz beer bottle, we cannot guarantee that your open first round bottle will survive to the next round, and so on.

So, in order to be considered a full entry, send 3. If you send only 2 and you otherwise would have been considered for a BoS slot, you'll receive our most heartfelt condolences, but no further consideration. ;)

12 oz. is about 375 ml right ? so for a valid entry I could send 3, 375 ml bottles ?

375 ml is about 12.7 fl oz. Three bottles is just right, with an extra 0.7 oz each.

Maybe next year I'll have something to send off--this year it's mostly still in carboys because I haven't had the ooomph to bottle. All I need is a few months of no dang doctors, and I'll be set. :p

I can't wait to read about it, though!

where's the info for the mazer cup 2011? I've got a spiced cyser that recently turned the corner and I'm curious to hear a judge's take on it

Jenn, I endeavor to bring "samples" back with me. I'll have to swing up your way and drop some off. ;D

That would be awesome, Aaron! When I retire, I'll have time to go, but teachers have a hard time going places on Fridays and Mondays. :)
