Is this -really- the first president to brew in the White House? A number of presidents are known for being home brewers.

I wonder what the recipe is?

Maybe it's just the first BEER, which is what I read. Other's could have done wine or other drinks. Beer may have been too 'low-brow' in historical times for THE PRESIDENT to brew IN The White House. (They very well could have brewed at home and afterwards, though. Nothing I read said anything against that.)

Now that's good to hear, after all brewing is at least as American as apple pie, kinda makes ya feel all warm and patriotic, oh wait....that may just be the JOA!

This story (about brewing at the White House) first popped up about a year or so ago. I'm glad to hear that the "experiment" is now becoming a "tradition." ;D
