I followed the recipe to a T, there is oranges sticking up out of the must, they are turning brown. The directions say don't you dare shake it. Do I leave them or try and fish them out? I made it mid December.

I'd swirl it now and then so they stay moist. We won't tell Joe.

While my oranges do look a bit "tired" by the end of the second month, I have never seen them turn brown. (especially not this soon)

Does anyone else get brown oranges? I am wondering if air is getting into Husky's carboy and causing oxidation...?

If it's up above the water level, most fruits will brown, this is why we recommend "punching down the cap" several times a day. Huskysibe, if the fermentation's died down a bit you can also top it off with a little water, hopefully that'll keep things submerged, especially if you're using a narrow-necked carboy.

Great suggestion! Fermentation is dead, I will top it off with water.
