I'm on my second batch of mead right now and the first one and this one have fermenting faster than I was expecting.

First (blueberry melomel) went from 1.090 OG to 0.995 in about a week.
-13 lbs blueberries 12 lbs honey
Second (peach/ginger melomel) went from 1.095 OG to 1.006 in about 6 days. (and still bubbling every couple of seconds)
- 10lbs peaches, 3 oz fresh ginger 14lbs honey

I'm using 71B yeast, room is right around 68 degrees and these are 5 gallon batches. Is this normal? Is there anything I need to worry about with them fermenting this quickly. I would have expected, through a lot of reading, for primary to take at least 2 weeks, if not more.

I'd say that's in the range of normal. Folks have seen things go as fast as one day, although that is uncommon. If you move the OG up to about 1.120, you'll probably get the 2-week fermentation time.
