So it's day 8 on my first batch and apparently my fermenting has stopped. How can I get it going again? It's a small batch with 5lbs clover Honey and 2 gallons of water. I aerated the first three days and got good bubbling from the air lock. I'm sure I might be missing something. This is a recipe for a quick mead I found online. My O.G. was 1.060 any yesterday I got a 1.040. I wanted to use what I had on hand so this has no yeast nutrients. I tried to get it going again by aerating some more but no joy. Suggestions?

Since I really want to get this going here is the recipe I used.
5# Clover Honey (simmered and skimmed with one gallon spring water)
2 gallons spring water
1 cup strong brewed tea
12 Rasins
4 whole allspice berries
1/4 t nutmeg
1 t roasted ginger powder
1 t cinnamon
2 lemons sliced thin
5 g EC-1118

I let everything(except yeast) sit for 30 minutes and then strained.
Hydrated yeast in a bit of reserved warm tea OG was 1.060
for the first three days I aerated and had good bubbles until day 7 (yesterday) I tested it and got 1.040 I also tasted it and it was not bad but still sweet so I'm guessing the yeast needs some help.

Are you sure it's stopped? Airlock bubbles are not always reliable.

If you test the SG again in a few days and it's still the same, it could be stuck. Adding nutrients and checking the pH are probably the two places to go first.
