I figured it would be nice to show off some of our creations, whether they be recycled bottles with a ribbon for ID, or a special shaped magnum with custom printing (if only I had the money:()

Ah . . . bottling day, what a fantastic mess, but great fun.

Once the labels are on, they always look great; except for the over pixelated image from my iPhone.

Here (http://i1061.photobucket.com/albums/t473/rkiley1/Back_Label.jpg) is a close up of my back label, and this (http://i1061.photobucket.com/albums/t473/rkiley1/Front_Label2.jpg) is the front. The tiny words at the bottom are old english for "the drink worthy of the great (mead)halls of old", I spent several weeks trying to translate it and finally got a professor of anglo-saxon from Ohio state to help.
The name Thara Cyninga means "belonging to the kings" (not exactly but pretty close).
Any pictures of labels, bottles, wine/mead racks, or what ever are welcome!

My racks (now hiding under a sheet to protect from light, and there's more hiding behind the removeable countertop)...

... and a couple bottle shots including a closeup of my labels.

Nice labels, setup and a beautiful color. I've always found that my mead got cloudy after racking/bottling but cleared up in a few days, I wonder if it's because of the oxygent mixing with the wine?
Anyways, I like the Acadian part. I will be putting a warning on the ones I give a way that will say: Warning! Product increases effectiveness of natural selection; use at own risk!

Thanks :) The colour's not as red as it appears in the photo, but it's still one of my better creations.

I usually don't bottle till it's totally clear (can't see flashlight beam) because I've had some where they hadn't dropped sediment in a year, I bottle them, and the next week they're crystal clear and have sediment in the bottles... can't win!!

I liked the amount of work you put into translating your message, I have just been using the same disclaimer and basic format for 8 years... except of course for when I do chuck a Chevette part in just for fun... and to see if anyone ever reads my disclaimer...

If I ever sort things out with Word (which I use to print my labels) I may mess with the graphic a little and have the Chevette photo in the background with the writing in the foreground, but it's so much easier to just take an old saved sheet and insert the new info, copy to all the labels, and print... It's a bit simple but it works and has almost all the info I want. The only thing I'd consider adding is the FG for sweetness, but I don't really need to do that now since I've gone and recorded it on my log book index / inventory (which lists the wine's style (kit/mead/mel/meth/wine/hydromel/beer/JAOv etc) and contents (fruit), start date, bottle date, the code I labelled the corks with, FG, alcohol content, yeast used, and current inventory and location of bottles... (got sick of having to tear my brewing area apart looking for something specific, now I have each shelf labelled).

I've sketched out a pair of labels for my meads, but as I'm not going to be bottling for a while I haven't finished them up yet. I'm not bad with photoshop though and I think I could get some rough WIPs off in the next few days now that I've been given somewhere to show off xD

Will have to wait at least a least a few weeks to see one on a bottle though.

I know the feeling. I drew that lightning picture while my mead was in primary, and the label designs done when aging. I could have slapped it on a previous batch, but it didn't seem right.
I am glad I waited to see it on the finished intended batch, it was worth it.
