been reading lots of posts about jaom and cyser just wondered if anyone had tried making a basic cyser using the JAOM recipe? is it possible to swap the water out of the jaom for juice or do half juice half water? guessing the honey would need to be recalculated or it will end up to sweet. very tempted to have an experiment once my current batches are in secondary

Should be able to.
I'd look up the 4 week quick cyser recipe myself.

hmmm very intrested in trying this think ill stick to the quick cyser method but use less honey and bread yeast is that suitable to get a lower abv%?

No. You'll just get lower sweetness until its dry, then you'll lower the ABV. Going dry with a JAO is not a good idea, dry and low alcohol would be worse.

If I were to make an attempt at this, I'd figure out how much honey I'd need to boost apple juice (SG 1.050) to 1.125 for an initial gravity and see how that goes from there.

looking at the calculater would need 2lbs for 1.125 leaving it just over 16%

Yeah, that's how I do my cysers. Though I'm not usually trying to hit such a high SG.
I like a dry-semidry cyser.

Bigdan110 asked about a JAO cyser variant, and most of my JAO's start at SG 1.125 or so, use bread yeast, and finish around 1.025 or so... I wouldn't start a cyser that high myself, but if you're trying to do something similar to a JAO, that's my take on it...
