I had 4 g of mead that had been racked off in a glass carboy for 3 months after a little over a month in a primary fermenter. While I was bottling it yesterday I realized I was a couple bottles short and had to go old school with some mason jars. They were brand new and quickly run through some star san solution to sterilize. Do I need to get some bottle and rebottle or are the mason jars good enough for a flat non carbonated mead to age in? :p

My uncles ran stills when I was growing up and I spent a lot of time filling mason jars. ;)

as long as those jars have a good seal to them, you should be fine. the object is to not get oxygen into the mead.

As long as you didn't leave much headspace, you're probably just fine. Although I'd drink those ones first...
