racking melomel onto cold fruit

Does anyone see potential problems with racking mead at a temperature of 75 degrees onto frozen fruit that is only partially thawed. Especially if I plan to later bottle condition? Will the cold shock kill the residual yeast that I will need?

I have racked onto fruit not yet thawed several times. It obviously slows the fermentation but the resulting melomels don't seem to have suffered. I was mostly interested in the fruit flavor and didn't much care if all that sugar in the fruit fermented, but it always has.

I've racked onto cold fruit as well. Doesn't harm the yeast... Unless you decide to put the vessel into the freezer or fridge, it'll warm up eventually... I just remember:

Too cold -- yeast go to sleep
Too hot -- yeast go to sleep... forever... ;D

Yep, done it several times. Once I forgot to take the fruit out of the freezer ahead of time and just racked onto the very frozen berries. Works fine, although you do stall out while it warms up.
