View Full Version : Rubber-Oh no?

Well, my little H2S problem got cleared up, now my Cyser is developing a slight rubbery smell.

Is it reduced sulphur compounds?

Possibly mercaptans?

SG is 1.022

OG was 1.150

Fermentation has definitely slowed but is still going pretty well.

The most important question is...

Should I wait and see if it blows out or splash rack over a copper scrunge pad now?

Do not use copper until the yeast are positively done. Copper will stimulate active yeast to produce more H2S. Try a splash racking and see if that gets it. Sometimes a dose of yeast hulls can also help.
