So through some misunderstanding between me and my brewing partner, we put two packets of yeast in a one gallon carboy with our intention being to only put one packet in. That batch's must is made of 3 gallons of honey with a little added cinnamon and some yeast nutrient.

Did we ruin the batch?

Nope, it should be fine. You just overpitched a bit, some folks always put more than strictly necessary. I don't usually worry too much about how much yeast I put in, since once it gets going, it doubles every two hours or so anyway, so you're a couple hours ahead or a couple hours behind, it'll all work :)

Thanks for the help, and yes, 3 pounds. I haven't perfected my bottomless 1 gallon carboy yet.
