I got a guy at the market to print them for me and cut them out.
$50/sqm

He makes stickers for cars and such. You can often find guys like this at Sunday markets.
He uses a machine like this (http://www.rolanddg.com/product/archives/sp-540v_300v/print&cut.html)

The image is taken from the popular Diablo game series. A friend of mine is working on making an original version that's a tribute to this image. But that's the idea.

Actually it's going on a very light flavored mead that seems very pleasant but has an ABV that will knock down an elephant. Like Satan, it makes you think everything is going to be allright then you wake up in an alley with blood all over your clothes and a dozen teeth in your pocket.

Here's one from the mead I gave out for Christmas this year. The two vertical lines were cut to thread red ribbon around the bottle that was tied in the back.

I'd like to give bottles to a few friends who don't know I mess about with this - just to see what the reaction is.

The ancestors I know about are more of a mix of Scottish and Scandinavian rather than Irish but there's a similar pagan type heritage and fondness for putting big stones in circles. :D

Of course they can be found all over the UK and on the continent as well.

I used to design a unique label for each wine, but that is too time consuming. Now I have a template type format for my honey and grape wine "brands".

My basic honey wine label (mead, cyser, pyment, etc.). Nectar of the Godz.
1432

My basic grape wine "lucy" label. DZM Cellars.
1428

Themes (Text color, PVC shrinks, bottle caps): Purple for honey wines, red and black for red wines, white and gold for white wines.
1431

On size label fits all for 1.5 L, 750 ml and 12 oz. beer bottles.
1430

Colored bottles caps with 3/4" printed labels save rummaging through beer case.

Quit an organizing job. Looks like you make a lot of different stuff!

PitBull
08-10-2014, 03:12 PM
I like to have a big variety. When the California and Italian juices get here in the fall I usually make six different varieties. Early fall is fall cyser. Winter is a good time for mead. I'm close to getting a local source of Chilean juices for in the spring. Throw in a couple of wine kits and a batch or two of beer and you get stocked up quickly. I'm sure I have well over 300 bottles of wine/mead.

Here's a photo of my brew room. It's not a true wine cellar since it's not climate controlled and the temp ranges from the low 60's in winter to about 70oF in the summer.
1433

I have a second wall mounted rack to install, I just have not got around to it as of yet. The wine bottle neck labels help a lot in finding a specific wine in the rack.

The 3/4" bottle caps stickers really save a lot of time when searching for a specific bottle in a mixed "beer" case full of wine. If anybody is interested they are Avery 5408 or Office Depot 660-534.

My typical 6 gallon batch is 3 bottles @1.5 L (synthetic corks for upright storage), 18 @ 750 ml (1.75" No. 9 corks), and 12 @ 12 oz. (crown caps). The beer bottles are great for giving 2 six-packs of different wines for the "12 Wines of Christmas" as a gift. The labels and colored crown caps make the gift special.

Uh... am I addicted?

Zapped, was that for a pumpkin mead? Just an awesome design. Reminds me of a production of MacBeth I saw a few years ago, only the 3 witches were topless on stage. Made an interesting scene....

Yep, getting quotes for local honey right now for a 5 gallon run of the pumpkin mead.

Some woman just quoted me 200 bucks for 2 gallons....had to write her back and ask if there were gold flakes hidden inside. Shes 80 bucks higher than anyone else whos responded to me and the days still fairly early.....well at least for me. :-)

Wow! Nice! How did you make it? (Brief version)

It's a BOMM, scaled up to a 3 gallon batch. I added a 6 lb bag of mixed fruit. I had seriously underestimated how long it takes hot honey water to cool down and my bag of yeast was so swollen I was afraid it would explode.

It will be a year old in February.

Thanks!

Here is my other Braggot I've bottled up, I made it for a really good friend's wedding. We left the reception a bit earlier than most, and she said that a lot of people REALLY enjoyed it. I bottled it in 750ml Belgian bottles, and apparently some people were drinking bottles themselves (I gave them 4 cases worth.): http://canadiansasquatchbrewery.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Happy-Marriage-in-a-Bottle-Label.png

I use a chalk pen with chalkboard-like labels, but then found a chalkboard paint that works good. I wanted a chalk looking label. The other is just something I designed and printed on avery labels I had.

Salutations, fellow mazers!

Been a few months, but things have been slow on the homestead. The last gallon of Sjofne Gardr is gone, and the equipment is again free for the next batch.
Last Valentine's Day weekend, the little wifey and I went on a wine trail; a route the covers most of the wineries and vineyards in the South Jersey shore area (which we'll be doing again this coming weekend). Her favorite wine was a blueberry variety. So for this next batch...

Bought a 1 gallon glass jug for..well..just because. I thought I'd make a quick and dirty fruit wine with it, and decided on a plum wine. I can't refrain from the joys of letting out my creative monster, so I just HAD to design a label. The results made my wife chuckle, so I suppose it's a winner.

Love that label! Where did you get the blanks? I'm having crap luck with self stick Avery style lables. I print out a nice label only to have it bubble and loosen a few months down the road. Seems like although they are a little more work that a paper label with some glue may look and work better, if that's what you are using?

Fastidiously. Maybe it's the high humidity in the TARDIS... usually around 70%.

I use Office Depot brand labels with zero problems with humidity here in 200% Humidity Houston. And labels that I want to protect against being in an ice chest I cover with: http://www.amazon.com/Con-Tact-Covering-Self-Adhesive-Privacy-18-Inches/dp/B001NPDFEY

WOW, you guys and gals have talent! I don't have an artistic bone in my body. The few labels I've made are very generic using pics from google images and adding a little text. Mostly I just put a code letter on the cork and I have a master list showing what mead or wine corresponds to each letter.

Use mspaint to edit the photo. From menu bar, select resize, and enter a %. For my pic resolution, its 35%. Then save to your hard drive. YMMV but when you get it small enough, it will upload. If its still too big, resize it again in mspaint.

Using tapatalk, I just click on the little picture of the mountain and the sun, and it uploads, then embeds a path to

When I do it. As you can see from my example, the image is loaded to tapatalk, not to Gotmead.com.

As such, I don't think it's a patron thing. Again, I'd look at tapatalk and its settings.

As a non-patron I found it impossible to upload a file. Even a single pixel would exceed the limit. Maybe this was back when the site was under construction and it was a bug and perhaps it's possible to upload a photo now

I always just host on imgur and then use tags.

You can also append s, m, or l to the end of the imgur file name to change the size:

Small - http://i.imgur.com/pocXbdfs.png
http://i.imgur.com/pocXbdfs.png

Medium - http://i.imgur.com/pocXbdfm.png

Large - http://i.imgur.com/pocXbdfl.png

There's also "h" (huge), but both "huge" and "original" (no letter suffix) are always too big to post in forums.
