Accidental Papaya!

Here's something that doesn't happen every day; an accidental papaya plant grew out of nowhere and it seems to be giving some fruit!

And I got a banana in my palm trees!

LOL Just kidding about the banana. It's actually been "walking" itself into the areca palms for years. In 17 years it (well, the daughter plants) have walked themselves over that way. As a New Yorker, you can imagine I wasn't too "up" on proper tropical plant management and didn't realize I should have been watching which daughter plant was left to grow after the main plant was harvested (small bananas that seem to have all the flavor and sweetness of a Cavendish squeezed into a delicious little package). By the time I realized what was happening, I had to just let it go. The bananas are so good I didn't want to risk losing them, so I'm slowly waiting for it to walk itself back out.. five more generations should do it.
