So was cleaning out the chest freezer and found so strawberries(and rhubarb) we picked in 2010. Dare I do something with them? They look a bit frosty but otherwise normal.

I'm sure they are fine for making jam or fermenting. Those chest freezers go really cold, so I think that aside from having no form when they thaw, they should be fine for mashing into something. But in case you were worried....here's a little excerpt from an article I was reading....

Mammoth is a very, very rare meat. As such, it has wound up in foodie fests only once in a blue moon. An annual dinner of Garth: The Explorers Club in 1951 is one of the few situations in which mammoth meat was actually presented at a banquet. Even then, it was probably in small chunks.

And you're worried about 4 year old strawberries.....

I've used fruit way older than that in my "cleaning out the freezer" mels.

Do not let them go to waste.

Make sure you use a fruit bag, for two reasons:

a) stawbs make for messy and huge lees
b) strawbs can be re-used to make jam afterward. It's quite good. (if I may say so myself - and if you have trouble getting it to set, it will often crystallise)
