View Full Version : Tangerine JAOM?

Will it finish too sweet? I guess I will find out soon enough. I started one gallon of JAOM just to have some for spring and in a sitcom style moment, my orange was eaten by the children.

Annoyed and not wanting to trek to the store I figured three small tangerines might do for one large orange.

Anyone out there already seen this movie?

Tangelo, lemon, blood orange, tangerine, grapefruit... done 'em all, and they all worked out OK. The grapefruit was a bit much for flavour (maybe if I do it again I'll make 2 gal with 1 fruit) and don't cut the sugar on lemon. If this turns out too sweet you could just add some lemon juice to tart it up a bit.

... yep, wide open, just for you... :)

LOL I saw that it has so thin a rind that I figured maybe there wouldn't be enough bitter to offset the sweet, but it's only a gallon and I plan to age this one for a good long time, so maybe it won't matter. I may add some acid but I'll wait till Feb to make any decisions.
