The original recipe is down below for 6.5g. Could somebody help me convert this to a 2g recipe. Also feel free to add anything you think might add to make this better! Thanks!

17lbs of frozen then thawed Strawberries
3 crushed campden tablets
4 tsp of nutrient of your choice
Water to 6.5 gallons
5g KV-1116

Any ideas to add anything? Maybe some medium toast oak and a vanilla bean too secondary?

Before adding anything to the secondary you might want to run it and then taste it. Not sure if any of the strawberry meads that I have tasted would have benefited much from oak, maybe a hint of vanilla...

Maybe a little pectic enzyme before pitching the yeast.

One more question! I'm confused about the nutrients. Is that 1.23 tsp for the whole fermentation or that each time for staggered nutrients.

The nutrients I use recommend 1 tsp per gallon so you could probably safely use 2 tsp, broken up into your staggered additions.

I guessing the original recipe had 1 addition on nutrients, but it really sort of depends on what you are planning to use. DAP and fermaidK, Fermaid O, generic yeast nutrient?

If you want this to be really nice and strawberry use 20 poounds of strawberries, no water, just your strawberries and honey plus your nutrients. When you open a bottle of this it will fill the room with strawberry smells, the honey you are going to backsweeten it with will stand up on its own and you will have a magnificent strawberry melomel, not a weak meager one. A little bit of oak, not to much, just so you can barely tell its there goes very well with this pure strawberry melomel. This is our January fun, we get bags and bags of frozen unsweetened strawberries and make this every year, and drink last years bottles in the depth of winter to bring back the cheer of summertime. You are going to kick yourself if the seat of the pants for making only 2 gal, tis a good excuse to get some real carboys for this one, no wife complains when its filled with her strawberry melomel!! Actually we dont usually use bags during the ferment anymore, after a couple of days the strawberry is more like a big blob on top, we scoop it off as big chunks, when going from bucket to carboy I like to set up a bottling bucket with a strainer bag in it and just scoop out the must into the bag hanging in the bucket.
