Hi all,

I'm thinking of trying a blueberry melomel. I tried one over the summer without knowing what I was doing. I'm a bit more wiser now.

I'm planning on doing a sweet mead to start and letting it ferment for about a month or until the ferm stops at least. Then I was going to rack it into another carboy with the blueberries and vanilla bean and let it sit for a while. Should I rack that after about a month and then just let it sit? Any advice or pointers?

Do you want a true blueberry flavor? how much do you plan on using per gallon? Id rack after 2 weeks, i use to let it sit for a month till i had one go bad :(

I was thinking between 2-3 lbs and maybe half a vanilla bean. I've never tried this before with a valid a bean so I'm not entirely sure.
