View Full Version : Backsweeten Advice Needed

I know before I post this some are going to reply there is probably no way to know for sure, so I am just asking for ballpark advice. When I make a batch of fruit wine that finishes dry and I want to sweeten it I usually end up with about 1/2 cup of sugar per gallon to get to the level of sweetness I like.

Can any one give me an estimate of how much honey it would take per gallon to sweeten a batch that is dry, 1lb, 2 lbs, any idea?

cup of sugar should be equivalent to approximately 5 fluid ounces of honey (or 210g by weight) according to the mead calculator.

Thanks, I have used the mead calculator but never thought to look there for this answer.
