So I've decided to give this mead thing a go, specifically a 1 gallon BOMM. Unfortunately for the endeavour, I live in New Zealand where Orange Blossom, or any citrus honey for that matter, appears unobtainable.

Can anybody recommend a NZ monofloral honey which might make a good replacement?

Whatever is the cheapest and easiest you can get your hands that doesn't involve a large chain produce store. You want a honey that has not be pasteurized, so heating is fine to filter out "extra stuff". Farmer markets will have what you want, just expect to pay top dollar at those markets. Maybe ask around to some friends and see if anyone has a hive or knows someone that has a hive. you will only need ~3lbs. I wouldnt worry about the type of honey right yet.
