I've read this helps prevent oxidation. Does anyone use it?

Yes, I have used it. A lot of others use it naturally when they use oranges or the juice of lemon in their meads at the start of fermentation. The food grade powder is a good one to add at the finish if you need a little acid at the end to balance the sweetness. It also helps preserve color and inhibits some bacteria.

I've been using apple juice from concentrate that has added Vitamin C in it, didn't make the connection between E300 and Vit C ;D .
