Hey everybody, been busy last few weeks packing the shop and house for the great migration to Florida. Just had a little time to drop by and say Hi ;D. My last batch of pineapple mead came out wonderfull, only did a 2 1/2 gallon batch instead of 5 gallons. I had a couple interesting problems with it, the first was the crushed pineapple I used. When I racked to the secondary It looked like I had lost almost 1/2 a gallon because of the volumn the fruit took up. Ended up dumping the pineapple into a collander and mashing the juice out of it. The other problem was the primary container had a small neck and it was almost impossible to get the crushed fruit out. All in all it was a success, very nice yellow color with a pineapple bit. Now I need to wait for a few more months to let it mellow.
The move to Florida is slated for June 2nd, plan to start a batch as soon as possible after arrival. Still need to come back up for the workshop, boat and bee hives but don't need to be there for the yeasties to do thier thing. ;D. Drink, Laugh and Love. Beeboy
