Hello everyone.
Is this served cold or room temp?
Just bottled a batch and am trying it cold. Tastes like flat beer.

I like it quite cold, perhaps even colder than most would suggest. Out of curiosity, what was your recipe?

BRAGGOT

1 Lb. Crystal Malt 60 (steeped)
3.5 lbs.Light Malt
1 oz. Kent Golding Hops
3 tsp. Irish Moss
10 lbs. Honey (Clover)
Lalvin D-47 yeast

Now a stupid question even though it's too late. Do you prime to carbonate or keep it flat?

I would think flat or carbonated was a personal choice, there's no rule about it. Personally, I intend to carbonate mine. At least I think I do at this point. After it's aged I may decide it tastes fine flat. I also don't think there's any rule about serving temp. Some recipes may taste better warm.

Traditionally Braggots are carbonated, and i happen to carbonate all of mine quite agressivly. But of course if you like yours better still theres no reason why you couldnt leave it still. I usually use about 1 oz of corn sugar (maybe a bit more) per gallon of braggot at bottling time for priming. This will yield a bit more carbonation than your average ale.

My first braggot ended up with a touch of carbonation in the bottle. Very yummy. I drink it at fridge temps. That mellows the hops a bit.

My neighbor and I just sampled my braggot while handing out candy tonight. It was definitely better cold, but it hasn't finished aging yet, so I can't say for sure. I also haven't carbonated it yet, but I do believe I will.
