Re: Chaucer's Mead
I recently tried a bottle of Lurgashall was was disappointed by the flavor. It started out great, but the finish was so heavy with a fennel/taragon and herbal bitters type of flavor that it really turned me off. Chaucer's is good, but I still think that the stuff that I make is better.
I spoke to the meadmaker at Chaucer's and they aim for a dry mead and back-sweeten to a particular brix level.
