I can't get my mitts on this Lalvin brand.
The brand I am using is Gervin yeasts, from Reading, Berkshire, UK.

Now I do have EC1118 - which is obviously what it says on the tin.

The other one which I've been actually using is Gervin GV26 French strain. Do Lalvin have a corresponding strain?

That is indeed a useful website!!

I spoke to thechap who runs Gervin, the yeast I'm using is actually not on that list, but is infact a robust version of the old number 4, which essentially is used for sherry wines. He's also an ex-Chemistry professor and homebrewer so I think there's a good bit of t4esting going on. Lalvan is actually a bugger to find in the UK, so I'm sticking to gervin.

Excellent.

Find what works for you from what is easily accessible.

Trying the different yeasts and experimenting is all part of the fun :D
