The bumble bee bat, first found in 1973. From the tip of its nose to the end of its body its 1.14" to 1.3" long with a wing span of 6.3".

Unlike other bats, bumble bee bats don't have tails and are the only flying mamal know to be able to hover in flight.

The pygmy shrew @ 3.94" is the smallest mammal native to the UK.
