I came across this while reading today,

A Japanese research team has developed a fuel cell that runs on blood. Here's a link to the story - http://www.int.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=31&art_id=qw111596760144B215 -

Having been a fan of Sci-Fi since I was a kid, well younger kid, reading news ike this fuel's the imagination. With a cell that makes electricity from sugar in the blood, does this bring us closer to a time when cybernetics and mechanical replacement part become common place?

That's a relief... I thought you meant a fuel cell to power cars. Could have gotten messy... how many miles to the pedestrian?

The new fuel cell, intended to fuel biological implants without the problem of producing
toxic substances, draws from blood sugar, which is glucose.

Glucose is also a primary sugar in honey.

Meadmakers of the world unite! We can solve the world energy crisis! ;D ;D ;D

Not with my honey you won't. It's expensive enough already, I don't want a world wide honey shortage affecting my mead production and driving the prices up.

Seriously, It's like $5 for half a pound at the local supermarket. Luckily there is a Trader Joes close.
