View Full Version : I bottled my first mead today

Sweet oaked agave mead looks wonderful in bellissimo 375ml bottles. The rented
floor corker made quick work of the 24 nomacorks.

I had actually planned on bottling two other meads but the warmth of the upstairs
either started their fermentations again or allowed trapped gasses to escape. Either
way it freaked me out enough that I didn't dare.

How long did you age your mead before bottling?

I fined five months ago with no bubbling since.

Nice bottles and labels... from the clarity, I can surmise what you observed was CO2 escaping your other carboys.

I suspect you're right. They've now been upstairs long enough
for the liquid to come to 70 degrees or so and they're no longer
bubbling. I'll make a bottling effort again in a week or so.
