OK...so what is the crud which has appeared on the end of one of the toasted oak sticks I threw in the mead. It looks sort of a grey color and is like a floating cloud. Is it yeast? :-\

The OC
Can you get a photo or a better description? If it's like a whitish thin film like very thin soap bubbles, that's kind of common in the aging vessel. But if it's thicker and more substantial, then I'd rack off it in a hurry.

Cheers,

Oskaar

Its not there today. I think it may have been sediment settling on the stick itself. I had just racked two days before. Thanks.
