I have a 5 gallon batch of mead in a 7.5 gallon ferment pail. It has about 18# of honey and two packets of yeast plus nutrients. When I attempt to stir it as recommended but it foams up and overflows the top of the pail.
We are on day four of the fermentation cycle.
Can I transfer this batch to a larger pail without adverse consequences or will oxygen and/or other factors be an issue?
Opinions? Advice??
