Hi all, heres my first attempt at mead. I used Thirsty Vikings cysler recipe pretty much, + or - a few details.

Recipe:
5 gallons of apple cider with no additives
15 lbs of generic store bought honey (next time im ordering)
1 pack lalvin k1-v1116 yeast.

Note: did not pasturize, did not boil, cleaned and sterilized the kitchen with a vengence that made housemates quite happy.

started: 11/14/2004

transfered to secondary fermentor 12/04/2004
(waited a little longer than prescribed since my apartment is cold and wanted to give yeasties more time)

sampled some of what wouldnt fit in secondary... i know it is greener than green, but was very tasty.

I'll add more when theres more to add
any advice would be most helpfull :)

Yah Cyser was my first too. It's a month and a half old and drinkable though i'd like it to get a little age on it before we go for a few rounds... Cold stabalized a week ago and now i can nearly read a book through it... not quite but it looks like lovely golden goodness! I'm awefully excited i've even got the lables designed.
