So I know that many of you are musicians, and I know what your favorite movies are, but I have often wondered what sort of people take up Mead as a hobby. My question is therefore: what do you do?

I am an Electrical Engineer (now unfortunately sucked into management).

I make a living as a Motion Picture Studio - Grip, I.A.T.S.E. local union #80. I've been in the employ of 20th Century Fox, for the nearly 12 years.

Office Manager/Receptionist at a roofing company...

Going back to school in the fall of 2006 for Interior Design.
 
Mental Health Specialist at a local hospital, third shift. I do emergency room psychiatric intake/crisis intervention, work on the hospital unit when not occupied in the ER.
 
I'm a Perfect Bind Operator, Manage a crew of 6 to 10 people, I set up, run & repair a massive binding machine for the worlds largest printer / bindery company. Our line can manage 40,000 books on a good 8 hour shift. You've probably held one of the books I've made. We've done a number of text books, including aviation engineering and mechanics. Comic books - Dilbert, Calvin & Hobbes, Farside, etc. Time Life books, Sunset, children's books, Black & Decker How To books, Classic Car, Antique, Gardening. Basically everything except your standard paperback novels, our line only does large format books. The hard cover line next to mine did The Daily Show's "Democracy Inaction".

I'm a full time furniture maker and a full time college student. Hopefully soon, I'll be hanging up my tools to teach English.

Board member on three non-profit corporations, one of which is community outreach/arts/cultural center, two of which are fraternal organizations. Executive Board member on the community outreach non-profit.

Chairman of the International Mead Association's Home Mead Maker Committee responsible for the Home Mead Makers Competition at the February 2006 International Meadfest in Boulder, Colorado. This one's going to be great folks so get your best hooch together and enter. You'll have a mixed panel of certifed judges and professional meadmakers. The feedback on entries will be invaluable, and it's a chance to be part of the "Super Bowl" of mead!
