Did anyone enter this competition this year or last? I sent-off a couple of traditional (Show) meads and a smoked Braggot yesterday. I figured with David Houseman heading-up the judging and with only the one bottle entry requirement that it's a win for any meadmaker looking for some quality feedback.

I wanted to and I sent them and email about when the start accepting entries but got no reply. Since I haven't bottled the one batch I havt to send I don't think I will get my entry there in time. The cut of date is Oct 7th right?

I won't have anything ready, much less Entry-worthy, but I did email them to see if Spectators could come and taste anything. No reply yet either. Westchester PA is about a 2 hour drive, but it seems to be the closest Mead related activity I have seen!

The mead I want to bottle and enter is to young but I need to start getting some input on my meads and with David Housman as a judge this seems like the place to be. So I guess if I ship it on monday it should make it there by saturday.

According to their website, they only need 1 12oz bottle or 2 6oz bottles per entry. More for me!

I agree. I sent them a bottle of the first mead I ever made and it was hard to part with even that much , but when I have multiple brewers, both amateur and comercial tell me it NEEDS to be entered, I decided to send it.

I haven't seen anything yet, but I'm looking forward to getting my feedback. I'm guessing that they liked at least 2 out of the 3 meads that I sent?
