Interesting link to Ron Paul info

I'm going to be voting for him. I'm not sure what the Illinois policy is on independents voting in primaries; I think it's "semi-open," but I'm going to have to do some research. The way I see it, he is one of the few that won't continue the status quo. Kucinich would change things too, but I think he's a tool, to put it simply.

I saw Ron on Leno the other night. He impressed me but I have to ask, how much of what he says is "button pushing" and how much of what he says can be counted on? Especially on Leno, he was pushing buttons that the crowd wildly responded to. (I thought anyway)

Can he really make it happen with the way the Senate, House of Reps and Supreme Court sit? The Presidency is only one leg of the Triumvirate of American politics. I like what he says, but I'm a cynic... Especially when it comes to politics. But then again, if he is honest (so rare), I like his vision for the most part. I'm not sure I agree with his entire platform but I think I might choose him as the "lesser of evils". Isn't that sad? That I have to choose from "lesser of evils" rather than someone I can truly believe in? He comes close but...

I certainly think he is a man of his word. I've looked at his and other candidates voting records, and I think his (and a few others' )is very solid. There are some things that I don't agree with in his platform, and I'm sure that the checks and balances will not enable him to do everything he wants to get done, but I think that is a good thing in the end. Heck, that is the foundation of our political system.

I look at most of the candidates for the two major parties, and I don't see the dichotomy that I once did. Sure, they argue over different things, but in the end, whoever is elected will end up doing the same thing: Increasing the government's influence in our lives, in one way or another. "That's what governments are for, to get in a man's way."
