Hello sattlerjm,

Welcome to Got Mead?

If you haven't had a chance to check out the Newbie Guide as mentioned in the agreement when you signed up you should set aside some time to do so. It's a great resource for beginning mead makers, and you'll see where Brix is referred to in the newbie guide along with Baume and Specific Gravity. I did a search using brix and came back with about 20 pages worth of hits which I'm sure can look overwhelming, but if you try narrowing it down with additional keywords like conversion, formula, amount, etc. you can also find good information on brix and how it relates to mead making.

To find the Newbie Guide to Making Mead you can either follow the link above, or use the gold colored vertical menu in the left hand column.

Links to brix and related terms, along with how to use the Got Mead - Mead Calculator are listed below:

Cheers,

Oskaar

Thanks for the welcome Oskaar. My GF gets annoyed with how much time I have been spending on here.

I was referring to the Glossary of Terms in the nice yellow column to the left. I have used it several times. Seemed like Brix was missing and wanted to point it out.
