This is my first batch of mead, it is JAO with no deviation from the recipe. It's been about half a day and I'm getting a bubble about every 3 seconds. Notice the line half-way down? I'm wondering if I didn't quite get the honey dissolved and it is settling out, and if it is what to do about it.

You can swirl it around a little without breaking the warranty, but even if you don't, the yeast will eventually find and eat the honey even if it's not all the way dissolved.

It could also be that your vigorous shaking has entrained some very small bubbles and they're really taking their time to float to the top.

And welcome to the forrum!
