Active carboy. It contains just over 9 ounces of black currant, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, a pinch of Lalvin 1118 (happened to be an open packet I had), and a pinch of nutrient.

Half split bottles.

I always make extra mead to compensate for racking losses. I have never used anything that small as a primary fermenter, but when I rack to the secondary and have a small amount left over, I use the smallest bottle I can find that will hold the excess.

I have used half-splits which holds 187 ml or 6.3 fluid ounces, with bungs specifically designed to fit bottle necks (No.2 drilled stopper).

I also use 12 oz. beer bottles, 375 ml splits (12.7 oz.), 16 oz. swing-top bottles, 24 oz. PET bottles, 1/2 gallon, 3 liter, and 4 liter. I still need to get a couple of 1 liter glass bottles.

No, no, I'm going all the way, Going to the store and get another quart of milk in a glass jug, a small one serving wine bottle, and a 1/4 inch piece of tubing. We're gonna rack 'em the proper way!

Oh yeah, the cider has pooped out, and I'm considering dumping it. I put that blasted black currant crap I had left over from another experiment. I'm going to re-start it as another mini-JAOM. Joe would be proud.
