Got one of those myself. Just slipped a disc last week trying to lift it, full, from under a counter. Let me recommend that you not try to do that. 4.5 kg feels light, but add in 20 kg of must and lift it improperly and it can do a real job on your back. Other than that it's been great so far. I hope you enjoy it.

So, here's the setup...
The carboy has 35 feet od 3/8" copper tubing wrapped around it with vinyl hose leading down tot he back of a 48qt cooler, and connected to a small submersible fountain pump to circulate cold water. It is controlled by a digital controller.
The Fermenter has the same setup using the FTSs system from SS Brewtech.

Awesome setup...should effectively keep temps of must down in southern California heat, open top makes it easy to add stuff and stir it, drain at bottom good for racking, stainless steel easy to clean and wont scratch. Lifting might be the only downside (and maybe cost). Well done, my friend.

Yes, lifting will be a no-brainer, its going to be elevated with the 5 gallon carboy directly below for easy racking. Once its filled, no reason to move it! I have a small digital thermometer with a probe coming from Amazon that will monitor the water temp inside the cooler.

And here's my latest....the worlds smallest fermenter...LOL

JD - I'm having a hard time seeing how you can fit a steer into your "new stainless steer fermenter". As a former rancher myself, I'm sure you can understand the dilemma. I think you need a bigger pot than that or some other compression method that I'm just not thinking about at the moment. I bet it would be even better as a conical fermenter for mead. Just a thought and trying to be helpful.

Looks like a prison hooch kit! Now if I could just think of a way to smuggle it in... :-D

Seriously nice setup with the conical. Radiating envy...
