July 19 Guest: Chrissie Zaerpoor, author of "The Art of Mead Tastin and Food Pairing"

So next show, our guest is Chrissie Zaerpoor, who is the author of a soon-to-be-available book called "The Art of Mead Tasting and Food Pairing".

Chrissie lives with her husband on a farm in Oregon where they grow food for the local gourmet food network. She’s been a mead enthusiast since about 1980; a home meadmaker since 1997; owner of a licensed commercial meadery since 2009; and a founding member of the Board of Directors of the American Mead Makers’ Association (AMMA).

As Ken Schramm says in his foreword for her book, "Mead is a diverse and incredible beverage, and just as with wine and craft beer, there are delightful, sometimes even mind-blowing pleasures to be had when you make the leap and take some of those treasures home. Chrissie’s charge here is to reward that leap by providing you with the information you need to squeeze every possible drop of enjoyment you can from that mead and the dishes you choose to pair with it."

Author, farmer, meadmaker, and Mazer Cup medallist, and regular contributor to the AMMA quarterly journal, Chrissie has all the skills and experience to help us understand what makes good pairings.

Do you have any questions you'd like her to address regarding food and mead? Post them, and we'll make sure they get asked!

Have you found any successful pairings with your own meads? Let us know what worked for you!
